I started making this quilt for my sister-in-law. The colors were chosen with great care to reflect the surroundings of her private space, by her bother, my husband. Working on this quilt gave me a great deal of joy and sadness. Joy, because I was making a quilt that not only showed the care I felt for my sister-in-law, but the love I feel for my husband. Sadness because she would never get to use the quilt, it would not be finished in time. She is gone from this world and we remember her every time the quilt come out for viewing. It does make my dear husband sad because he misses his sister very much.

I believe we work on quilts for the ones we love and the ones we love would be happy that we keep those quilt to remember them. Quilts are always a warm hug, especially if the one giving us a hug can’t be here in person.
