About Us

I started quilting on my grandmothers knee. Granny would have loved the idea of me quilting again. Things have changed, those days of hand sewing a quilt on a large frame in the middle of the living room floor. The love and  passion of quilts made in the past are still alive in the quilts of today, we still make them because we want to share love and comfort. I always thought a quilt was like getting a big hug.

I will not be the only quilter making these beautiful quilts for you to choose from. I will add a page for you to see the smiling faces of the quilt makers.

Meet the Team

DEDICATED. EXPERIENCED. PROFESSIONAL.

We are a group of creative people trying to share the warmth and comfort of quilts with others. Nothing quite says, I am thinking about you like a quilt. Whether you make one yourself or have one made for you, there will always be a little piece of time you can remember when you cover up with your quilt.

Quilts come in many styles and colors and the same can be said for the quilters and sales associates you will find here. Each and every one has a desire to make you feel like part of the family. Whether you are looking to add the accent piece to pull a room together, or a cover to throw across the couch for those cold nights, or a gift for that special date that you want to remember who was there, we are here to help.

I will be searching for quilters/bloggers to add to the family, because we want to give you a well-rounded and diverse group to work with. We are so glad you came by and hope you feel right at home.

CRICKET TOOMEY

OWNER

My name is Cricket, that’s what everyone calls me. I am a knitwear designer that was taught to quilt by my Grandmother. I remember sitting at her feet while she hand quilted a large quilt on wooden frames. If we were good and played nicely, we got to sit under the quilt with toys. I always ask to learn and one day it was my turn, I remember it like it was only yesterday. A tiny needle, that was hard to see even for young eyes and a sea of bright colored fabric, made to keep me warm.

This was my starting point for quilting and I have been privileged to help many others learn to quilt, both by hand and by machine. Granny would be happy to see me quilting again, but I’m not so sure about the machine. I want to teach people to quilt if that is their desire to learn. I want to share a warm hug with everyone that covers up with a quilt, because that’s what quilting is to me, a warm hug from someone that cares about you.

Quilting can be quick and satisfying if you are willing to spend a weekend, or it can be a journey to challenge you, or a group of your friends. You don’t have to make the quilt yourself to pass on a warm hug, just take the time to get that special one that speaks to you or the person you are buying it for.

Warm hugs for everyone, especially those that help me here, because we need them more now than ever before.

KATHERINE PEPIN

QUILTER/KNITTER

I love anything creative, drawing, knitting, quilting, sewing, cooking, oil painting, acrylic painting and cross stitching. Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada. My favorite thing is sharing my inspiration and talent with others. I have taught painting in the past, which is where my passion lies.

I painted for Memory Boxes, which is a volunteer program that gives parents of babies that are no longer with us a keepsake to remember their special child. I quilted for Rogers’s house for children that gave a warm hug to children with cancer. I also quilted for adults with cancer, because going through treatment can be a cold place.

Cricket, tells me I am a very caring person. My faith in God brings me much joy, because he is the reason for the talent that comes from my hands.

ECHO REIMERS

CHICKEN WRANGLER/CRAFTER

My name is Echo Reimers, I love animals of all types. I became friends with Cricket when we moved next door. We have since moved away from the old neighborhood, and now live on a mini farm. Peace and quiet, one might think. Not at my house, we have two Labrador retrievers, many chickens and roosters, some ducks, and I’ve seen a snake or two hanging out in the back lot.  I wanted to go to school to be a veterinarian, but as with most life gets in the way. I take care of my animals and raise new ones much as nature intended.

Cricket taught me to knit and we talk often about quilting. I have been sewing off and on for quite some time and I enjoy making accessories for my home. I will at some time start back to crafting, time permitted, but for now, I will be talking about my chickens and ducks, with a little crafting on the side.
